I love this presentation.
Whenever I hear a recording of Jim Henson speaking, I feel kind of sad, because I can hear Kermit at the corners of his voice.
DICE PORTRAIT
This amazing modern art idea is dedicated to artist and designer Tobias Wong who passed away May 30, 2010, at the age of 35, after living 13,138 days. His friend Frederick McSwain built this commemorative portrait using exactly 13,138 dice to emphasize on life and its hazards. “The idea of a dice itself was appropriate—the randomness of life. It felt like [a medium] he would use. Because [Tobias] was a very street-level force, I thought it was appropriate [to install] the portrait on the floor. Its not something I wanted to suspend on the wall; I wanted it to be right there on the floor where you almost interact with it. The idea of every decision you make and everything you’ve done in your life, defines who you are. All of those days symbolically makes up the image of Tobi.”- Frederick stated. The dice were simply laid out on the floor without using any kind of adhesive. – (via – FRESHOME)

”Altered States”
Valerie Hegarty
Marlborough Chelsea, 545 W25nd St., NYC
Hegarty’s depiction of destruction is a departure point to examine larger issues of erasure, repression, the uncanny, metamorphosis, death and rebirth. Hegarty painstakingly crafts her works from foam core, papier mâché and ink-jet prints on canvas that she then paints, carves, twists, drapes, amputates, and grafts to create mutated originals where the fictional disasters behave as a catalyst for the works coming back to life. - thru May 5
My website momsbasement.org is having a geeky easter egg contest, and I made this comic scene using eggs!
Featured is the * Don’t Crack, Dead Inside” egg for the Rick egg to find.
Then we have Rick egg yelling at Carl Egg because Carl Egg is playing with Zombie egg again. * For the 10th time Carl, Stay in the damn house!!!*
Then we have Daryl egg and Rick egg battling Zombie egg. Daryl makes a kill shot of course!
Brilliant.

So today I’m at the Kohls waiting to check out and two people in front of me, checking out, is this older gentlemen. He asks the cashier about the senior discount and she tells him it’s usually on Wednesdays that this offer it. So the lady in front of me and behind him asks if he can use her 20% Kohls member card which the cashier says is fine. At first the gentleman protests, but after learning the lady will still be able to use it as well, he agrees. When his sale is finished, he received $10 in Kohls cash. So he gave it to the lady that lent him the 20% off card. Moral of this story, when you give, you will receive.
